When we began renovations and construction the most important component was the dance floors. A sprung floor is a floor that absorbs shock. It is the best floor for dancers to dance on because it creates a softer landing therefore helping to reduce injuries. We turned to Massachusetts based company, Wooden Kiwi Productions. Owner, Richard Wood has been making and installing dance floors for over 20 years. Wooden Kiwi Productions has developed a floor system that combines interlocking panels with pads of closed cell foam. The result is a perfectly balanced shock absorbing dance floor. The top surface of the floor is vinyl Marley made by Rosco which allows for versatility in usage making it the perfect choice for our class offerings of ballet, modern, jazz, tap and pointe. Together, this flooring system is truly state of the art. Please browse our Gallery to see photos of the construction process.
