Lilit Hogtanian started her ballet education in Los Angeles, CA with Yuri Grigoriev who taught a Vaganova based syllabus. She later went on to graduate from Academie de Danse Princesse Grace in Monaco, Monte Carlo where she trained under Marika Bessobrazova, Roland Vogel (Stuttgart Ballet), and Luca Masala. The syllabus she completed was inspired by French ballet methodology, with the curriculum including a heavy emphasis on ballet theory, anatomy, and pedagogy. As a professional dancer, she has performed principal and soloist roles with the Slovak National Theater, Ballet Memphis, The Dance Theater of Harlem, and State Street Ballet.

As a teacher, she centers her lesson plans around technical proficiency while infusing emerging curriculum to her lessons to better suit each dancer’s individual qualities while identifying areas in need of improvement. Her greatest goal is for students to instill self-awareness and control as they work towards their technical and artistic goals to reach well-rounded outcomes. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of working with renowned coaches and choreographers in the industry, and she feels it is her duty to pass down this knowledge to students. Injury prevention and conditioning is an integral part of her teaching method in ensuring longevity and wellness for the future workforce of ballet dancers.

We are thrilled to welcome her to our Shoreline Ballet faculty.
