Gail Hartnett joins the Shoreline Ballet after 12 years of teaching experience at the New Haven Ballet, as well as several years at The Dance Corner. Her training includes eleven years of study in ballet, jazz, and tap in Springfield, New Jersey, including a year at the Garden State Ballet School. Her professional career includes the pursuit of two passions: biology and ballet. As a biology major at Bucknell University, she continued to study ballet, and included coursework in Anatomy & Physiology, Early Child Development, and Adolescent Psychology. She choreographed several pieces, and performed with the Bucknell Dance Company. During graduate school in Woods Hole, MA, Gail danced with the Falmouth Theatre Guild. After transferring to Yale University, she spent several years studying at the New Haven Ballet with Noble Barker, and performing with the Paul Hall Contemporary Dance Theatre. She completed her Ph.D. in biology at Yale, and currently teaches marine biology at the University of New Haven. Dr. Hartnett is an ABT Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the American Ballet Theatre Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum. She brings her passion and enthusiasm for dance, as well as enjoyment in working with kids, to the Shoreline Ballet!
