Allyson Ribeiro has been involved in dance for over 26 years and has experience in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Hip-Hop, and Pas De Deux. She grew up in Cheshire, Connecticut and trained with Betty Seibert at Cheshire Dance Centre. Under Seibert's tutelage, Allyson studied the Cecchetti method of ballet, and passed all Cecchetti ballet examinations Grades 1-8. She also studied and passed her Cecchetti Advanced 1 examination when she was 18. She also passed all Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Tap examinations 1-8, as well as the Advanced 1 tap examination. Allyson was given the opportunity to attend several Cecchetti Summer Intensives in Hartford, CT and Santa Barbara, California. During this time, Allyson studied with American Ballet Theatre's former artistic director, Kevin McKenzie. Allyson also performed in Cecchetti Ballet Theatre's "The Nutcracker," for 10 years, and has played roles such as the Dew Drop Pixie, Snow Princess, Candy Cane, and Mother Ginger, among others.
Allyson attended Salve Regina University from 2011 through 2015, and was a member of Extensions Dance Company for 4 years, where she worked with choreographers such as Mark Harootian, Christen Quattlebaum, Danielle Genest, and Andrea Dawn Shelley. Allyson choreographed several pieces during her time at Salve Regina, and these pieces were performed at Salve's Student Choreography Showcase.
Allyson has been teaching dance for over 12 years. She has taught students ages 3 through 18. While she was in high school, Allyson was a student teacher at Cheshire Dance Centre. Allyson also taught at Island Moving Company in Newport, Rhode Island. She has also taught for former Radio City Rockette, Carolyn Dutra, at Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio in Warwick, Rhode Island, where she taught Advanced Ballet and Beginner Pointe.
